Plunge into the shadowed depths of Ashen Pall’s debut EP—a 5-track journey through worlds of crushing heaviness and brooding atmosphere. This EP pulls no punches, merging dissonant guitar riffs with haunting, ethereal synths and relentless rhythms. Each track carves out its own dark narrative, pushing boundaries with brutal intensity and haunting vocals that chill to the core. From apocalyptic lows to razor-sharp highs, the soundscapes are relentless, leaving listeners engulfed in a raw, powerful maelstrom of doom, death, and black metal. For fans of the bleak and brutal.

This is oppressive and grim, full stop. "Eclipse," the track available for streaming, initially features a mournful lead and thick application of fuzzy pressure--the soundtrack to planetary descent through the upper atmosphere of a gas giant. And then the drums erupt in a moment of absolute fury, catapulting the track into a higher echelon of intensity. It's a daunting and powerful song, and I'm pleased to report that the remainder of the Chains of the Grindstone is similarly formidable.

There must’ve been a moment when someone looked at the Jack in their glass and thought “That tastes like elephant piss, but I want to get drunk. What happenes if I drown the shit out of it with some coke?” My point being that somebody, somewhere had to to decide to take a gamble, and that gamble paid off. Kind of like throat-singing and black metal.

This is so dark and cool! Aggressive but enthralling!
