The mahciu collective was established autumn 2003 by founding guitarist BLAKE CONNALLY (Final Expression, Dead in the Dirt, Infernal Coil) and drummer AARON WAMACK (O'Brother, Harken The Hands Askew, Thee Shall I Cherish, Big Jesus). We incorporated all of our favorite elements from screamo, grindcore, powerviolence and punk alongside a love of pastoral ambient passages. Our songwriting duo was a fully collaborative unit between guitar and drums. We shared lyrical & vocal duties equally, and firmly weaved veganism, passion & DIY aesthetic into our identity. Over the years, a revolving cast of friends also helped expand our lineup (Jeremy McCleary - bass, Chris Turner - guitar, David Durnell [RIP] - bass, Sean Bruneau - drums, Vince Wynn - bass, and Lacey VanKirk - keyboard).
During our 4-year existence, we issued 3 different releases and toured relentlessly. Our final performance was a house show in Atlanta, mid April 2007.
