Baltimore Jail is a track that sees Smokin' Cola step out of the comfort zone, leaving the safe confines of indie rock and creating an experimental folk-punk take on classic Americana.

Reworking the traditional folk song Down in the Valley (also recorded as Birmingham Jail and previously performed by artists such as Leadbelly, Johnny Cash, and Jerry Garcia), Smokin' Cola combines electronic strings and piano with jazz percussion, creating a sonic landscape for the frantic vocals and strummed guitar (both recorded in one take).
