From their home offices in Colorado, Oklahoma and Florida, three aging IT bros virtually banded together as taskkill to sling forth a hodgepodge collection of sounds that no one was or is asking for.

Influences drawn from MySpace Metal-core and Grind-core acts such as Daughters, The Number 12 Looks Like You and The Sawtooth Grin, the trio smashed together a new take on that now-remiss music scene with layers of bend-y guitar riffs, unrelenting percussive breaks, and emotively guttural vocals spilling from every sonic direction. The clash of dissonant sounds are relieved by occasional day-dreamy breaks where melancholy melodies and coherent cadences come into focus, bringing structure to a kaleidoscope of instrumentals.

Although Metal is the lifeblood of taskkill, listeners will not hear any modern Djent-style breakdowns or booty-shaking grooves in this band’s collective heartbeat; only unapologetically gross self-indulgence, and that’s not okay. Do not support taskkill.
