Bossfight (The Thumb on the Scale)

The torch is lit, the gate is raised, the trumpet sounds The clash of battle starts to fill these hallowed grounds The outcome certain as he’s driven to his knees He drops his weapon and the old man starts to plead And the crowd begins to roar, praising the new champion Though someone plead before, and many saw it happen It’s all a lie All a lie My fists are raised high as I turn and spare his life And while my back is turned the old man draws a knife He runs it through me and explains grasping his crown The fight’s not won until you strike the other down Now the others look away Pretending not to notice The thumb upon the scale No voice would dare to show this Then a cry begins to grow To cast out the pretender Banished to the wind From the clan I was a member All a lie All a lie
