Antecantamentum
I: ξενώταται ξένων - "Outsiders Among Outsiders" We are outsiders among outsiders. Alliances that should have been established, Are destroyed by outdated views That permeate even the furthest fringes. Our voices go unheard Due to accusations of extremism By those upholding the same status quo That oppresses them as well. Our existence is “controversial”. The naïve believe we’ve already achieved equality, The conspiratorial somehow believe we are in power. Yet we are either invisible to, or hated by, so many. The pretentious ones doubt our existence, As we do not appear in the limited scope Of these sophists, who constantly argue In bad faith with their version of "logic". The socially inept loners selfishly see their suffering As worse than ours; they live wholly subjectively. Yet they criticize those who “value emotion over reality” While holding their own emotions as reality. II: οἱ ἁμαρτωλοί - "The Sinners" You claim to speak in jest, And that we are overreacting to nonsense, And that if we wish to be equal, We should be as open to mocking as anyone else But the problem is that every mention of us, That isn't tinged with hate and disgust, Is already a joke. Our deaths bring laughter. We are dying, Not only by the hands of others, But even by our own. Poor souls, driven out by such weak people. And so I say to the doubters, Not to the ones who do not know, But to those who believe that they know us Better than we know ourselves: May the queer joy of your progeny drown you Abandon your perceived victimhood, Relinquish your deluded self-image, Rein in your incessant need to pontificate, And silence your ultracrepidarian mouth. The idea of a "disconnected" identity, While seeming strange to you, Is no stranger than other things, Which take place in this universe. III. αἱ λῦμαι - "The Indignities" You say you’re science-minded, Yet make your intellectual ineptitude very clear. The (unnecessary) studies show we’re not lying, But if it doesn’t confirm your beliefs you don’t care. They tell us to give up, That we’re pretending, That we are mistakes, That we shouldn’t live. They tell us that the issues they pretend to care about Matter more than our well-being, Or that their god is too perfect, To have made us in these ways. How does it feel When you tell us That we should die? Does it fill your pathetic being with joy? IV. ἡ θρηνῳδία (Lamentation) (An instrumental memorial for our trans siblings who have left us) V. ἡ ἀποκάλυψις (Revelation) Blinded by ignorance, By misguided following of scripture, By your unreliable postulation, Or by your insecurity You feed off the lives of innocents, And because of you we are dying. Every poisonous word from your mouth, Is a nail in our coffins. Your kind will be seen terribly, By the coming generations. Your words are the screams of a dying animal Fighting on to live, but there is no hope for you. The more we learn, The more the obvious is shown, that we are not abhorrent. We may need a bit of help, But we are not fucking lying. We mean no harm to society We mean no harm to you So why do you continue To put us in graves? What good does it do you to hate us so? How empty is your life that you need to hate The lowest of your hegemony? What times, what morals?! VI. ἀναστησόμεθα (We Shall Arise) We shall arise! We shall arise!
