My Hands Found in Waves of Rust
Apple of Basilisk
Lambs with blurred legs like a scythe against blades of grass Trails of breadcrumbs left behind like pointing neon signs Mouths pouring waterfalls Christ’s feet full of blisters Eyes of daggers circle me A womb closing in I bear the fangs of feral dogs Swallowing metal beneath skin So you can see down my stomach My head leans back My hands miles apart They cool my insides with the night air Wolves full of lamb return home Still, plucked, and headless My body bathed in sand It becomes an ant in the waves of rust My head floats through the clouds in the claws of buzzards Painting the sky with crimson mist

Doorway of Porcelain Bones
Apple of Basilisk
A butterfly’s grasp on the wheel I’m only an inch away from swallowing fire Self immolation is a doorway Familial dry heaving A ceremony of shared tears I am the most significant stranger you’ll never meet You’ll recognize me through my teeth At this speed, I’m porcelain Eyes tight Bite the glass Bite down
