Over the years I have had many pseudonyms until I settled with BMK - which might not even be the final one.
I began with bass and vocal experiments during my studies in Rotterdam where my adored renowned bass teacher Marius Beets dryly said: “Ah, troubadour style.”
It always wasn’t easy for me to see the guitarists sing and play their instrument, I envied them to be so complete.
So one day, when I recorded the bass for my dear friend Catwalski, I asked him if we could record “This Bass Was Made For Walking” in return, my take on the Nancy Sinatra original.
And I got a positive response from several people but that was not what kept me going.
I had found my own voice, I loved doing this and now many years later, I am putting together a small menu of what came before my debut album in 2023.
Every project had its time and love put into it and now these strays finally have a home.
