In 2024 I was working myself out of heartbreak and a longer stay at a mental institution when I wanted to record another album after my debut, “The Complete First Season” (2023).
I thought of a theme, it was supposed to be kind of more rough, black music centered around the double bass.
Recording the music was once thing, creating the video show was another.
While working on the show for weeks I tried to recreate the visit of a movie theatre in the first half of the 19th century with a host and interlude music and vintage images.
I have included the show as a bonus download, as well as the poster jpeg that I created for myself as a treat.
The American Sound consists of 4 jazz standards or tunes and one original by me, which contains a vocal track by none other than the father of Aretha Franklin, who was a very groovy preacher.
In the video show I have, with all my love and dedication cut and put together public domain footage to create a new performance and I hope you will enjoy both the EP and the … At The Movies! - part!
