The first thing you see here is the cover art.
A picture of five men rafting the currents. Second to the right: my late father, highly intrigued and motivated, focused, smiling, happy.
It is my go to image when I feel the need for adventure and when I feel I need to go forward. When I try or actually am happy.

In March 2025 I took a ten day break from everything to take care of my socially accepted addictions and my musical duties. I also planned to record an album. As fun, interesting and tiring this week was I have to accept the fact that my plan has failed. But, as my good friend Micha told me - it’s all about the process, not only getting closer to goals.
In the end - sigh - I still smoke, I still drink too much caffeine and sugar. But this EP, the result of my album ambitions is a war cry I think. I war cry to not give up on myself and my life as an artist that I love so incredibly dearly.

On this EP you will hear a solemn chanting army march towards the gates of hell (“The Fall Of The House Of Smoke”), you will hear an angry jazzer vent his frustration of not being to let go of that damn drug (“Pissed-Off Jazz Musician”), you will hear a song about my childhood, my being damaged and still coming out the other end to sing songs (“Songbird”) - and you will hear my tribute dedicated to the late great G.O.A.T. David Lynch (“Coffee (Black Is Beautiful)

A war cry is a war cry is a war cry.

I still have a litte time on this planet. I want to spend it with my loved ones and with my art.

Maybe you have things you want to get rid of, too.

Is that so? Then let’s put this record on, shall we?

And let’s see that House of Smoke…

fall.

PS: my dear friends Micha Krönung, Mihau Kowalski (Catwalski), Frank Brempel and last but never least best friend Jens Küstner helped me along the way with feedback, support and design tips for the cover. Thank you, guys!

But the the true sir at my side during the process was Johann Sebastian Vierthaler. From Linux to Reaper to the Multiband Compresser. Thank you, I learned so much from you and I am overjoyed and honored that you helped with co-producing this EP.
