Moon Tooth "Phototroph" cover

Caroline Harrison · January 8th, 2025

Moon Tooth approached me about doing the cover for their 2022 release, Phototroph, some time in 2020 or 2021. They were lovely to work with, and I do think that working on this piece helped me push myself as an artist, while also being a slight departure from some of the more overtly graphic and horror-inflected work I’ve historically done. They’re really kind folks who are super dedicated to their craft.

The image is rendered in both gouache (top half) and pen and ink (bottom half) with some marker and walnut ink for texture and color (also bottom half).

The original is available through the Convent in Philadelphia at this link.
