We live in an age where our identities are constantly challenged and shaped by external forces: idealized selfies, heavily-curated social media personas, influencers with questionable motives, and pervasive targeted advertising all tell us who they think we should be. SELF- is an exploration of identity in a digital world from Ed Herbers & Exit Chamber. Expertly weaving together synths and atmospheric soundscapes, it follows a journey from self-destruction to self-expression: a dark-ambient journey through the labours of self-growth. Channeling the euphoria of self-discovery to the despair of the actual & the ideal, the authentic & the imposed self.
