Fire To The Prisons
Fire To The Prisons
We don't need your fucking cages, We don't need your fucking cops, Stealing hours and their wages, Locked in a cell and left to rot Fire to the prisons! Death to all the jailers! Fire to the prisons! Blamed for all their failures! We don't need your fucking cages, We don't need your fucking cops, Burn the files with all their cases, Use the land to grow some pot, A cage will never fix a killer, Iron bars won't make them stop, But killers already roam the street, They're dressed in blue and called the cops.

Beltalowda
Fire To The Prisons
We are Belters, this moment is ours, We do not fear death,we live in this void. The place where we go is the place that we belong. None have more right to this, none more prepared. Beltalowda! Du feri da Belte! (Free the Belt!) Beltalowda! Liwoda na aniymal! (We are not animals!) Every Belter knows hunger & thirst, Every Belter has felt boots on their neck. You hunted us and yet still we are here, We remain unbent, unbowed and unbroken. Inner history of taking other's homelands, We have no need of the feel of earth on our feet, We will not live on the scraps that you feed us, As long as a Belter breathes, that is Inner defeat.

Sister
Fire To The Prisons
Forgive me Mother, For I am unclean, Anathema, Unworthy of your grace, The hair on my flesh, Reveals my sins, The part of my tongue, Sewn in unison. Hiding the sins of my blood, They judge what I do not feel, I bear the scars of devotion, The pain of the divine is real. Mother! Forgive me! Burning! Wax over my eyes. Craving! The embrace of sin. Waiting! For her presence to come. Negating! Still I am loathed and feared

An Act Of Defiance
Fire To The Prisons
Fighting, for what little we get, Vultures keep circling over our heads, Ravenous, waiting for death Rebel drums march to the sound of our breath. Living, an act of defiance, Not crushed into this place of compliance, Disgust, a song of the pious, Flames of revolt now lighting their pyres. Revolt! Resist! Reclaim! Finding, that hope that was lost, Pushing forward full well knowing the cost, We take bread, we take dignity, We are not those who started this hostility, Oppressor, you know all your crimes, When I kill you, the two of us will die, Shadow, of my former self, Cast off as we seize all of your wealth.

Hope - Grief
Fire To The Prisons
The fractures lay within me, Coarsing their way into my veins, My despair stains like black honey, A steady slow leak of pain. Tear out my mind, Suffocation, suffocating, The relief of this release, After constant constraint. A light of hope flickers, It's flame grows and recedes, Whether I continue on, or lay my weary bones to sleep. Hope lifts my heavy heart, Sorrow drags me back down, I am left suspended here, All alone with a black hound. I don't know if I will see, A world with a place for me, A soul carrying the weight, Of both hope and grief.

This album was recorded, produced and mixed on the stolen lands of the Jagera and Turrbal people. Fire to the Prisons unequivocally supports the struggles of Indigenous people in their fight for justice and self determination.
