Grey Mountain
Grey Mountain
From on high, a clear view for observing ruin down below
Trace the arc of civilisation, trajectory to where all empires fall
Grey mountain
Sanctuary, conceived in the heart of violence
Clandestined, dark haven
Entitled mass, serving its own vanity
From macabre wastes of relentless oblivion found
With surgical brutality; hungry force, the dead one rise; Sardonic realms,
Lost grip on reality
Grey mountain
Sanctuary
Master, father deafening white noise
Left for an age, in the vale of Arioch
Waning grip, mark of arrogance
Way of the snake, assuming that guise
Could not remake paradise
Echoes from past glories long gone
Roots find their way inside, reclaim the potent stone, monument to a wayward cult(ure)
Plain Cautionary tale: fall of the mountain king
From hubris destroying the world around him

Perpetual Imbalance
Grey Mountain
No matter what species finds itself in the ascendency
All systems trend to self annihilation; no legacy secure
A Future, scorched earth
Perpetual imbalance, engine of disorder
Wasting a life building walls from crumbling sand
Waiting for the winter sun to shine and remove the chill of infinite time
Perpetual imbalance
Obscure cause, emergent doom
Blue line protection, eroding away; keeping the vacuum of space at bay
Flux continuum, like a furnace flame
For better or worse, the agency of change
Perpetual imbalance

A Universal Evil
Grey Mountain
Central conceit, primitive drive
Barely alive, that withered old
Break against the walls of a temple fortress
Wildfire within ice, paradoxical nature of being
Loving to hate, humanity’s bile,
A universal evil
I still remember its taste, and the scent of killing
Wandered aimless in strange lands, lacking meaning
Passing or failing only dust remaining…..
Is there any hope left, of a new golden age
Unfulfilled promise but where would be the righteousness
Fallen angel’s gift from objective view point
Deluded drones of christ lead to armageddon
Now followed by the heathen hordes profit over survival
Wearing masks, deceiver outlasts
Wrathful generation condemned to future hell
Deliberate obscuration
The lowest form of self-sabotaging life
Entropy unfolds
No innocent tribe everyone fell for the blind
Empowering the Universal evil

Hermitage
Grey Mountain
Find the night is darkest before the dawn
Funeral for free will
Subsisting alone, outlook unknown
Exiled-by-design, in this hermitage - home
Hiding away from my people, in isolation, where clarity is mine
I can see the coming threat but no one will listen
Hermitage
Ignored the warnings, the sleeping village
Until at last I embraced the void and felt the kiss of emptiness
A thousand footsteps carved my path
The only road I know
It led me out too far
I could only watch from the heights
The fate of all commands is to fade
The fate of man is to fail, in the end

Many Shades, A Storm
Grey Mountain
Beautifully coiled the whip of destruction
Calming the chaos of nature enforced
Fury of a maelstrom in open rebellion
Yet its form belies many shades a storm
Terrorized, relentless size
Biting cold, deep into bones of men no longer wise
Futile regret of yesterday, existing without a reason for being here
Beaten down, joylessly drown, until the will emerges within
Beautifully coiled, the whip of destruction
Calming the chaos of nature enforced
Fury of a maelstrom in open rebellion
Never learned lessons, instead suffer the storm
Freezing skies, snowblind
Barely surviving, the role of soul sacrifice

Decline and Fall
Grey Mountain
Lost prophecy of Theia shall rise, hidden in realms of those unrealized
Curse of the damned predestined lies, front row seat to your own miserable oblivion found
Only thing certain is the call, no one outlasts the decline and fall
Burn down the sanctum, from which nothing will thrive ever again
Decline and fall, eternal legacy dies
Maybe it’s best that we quicken the end, to get the worst over and cease to pretend
Existence no more than a humorless joke, curing the illness with a terminal stroke

Living Mythology
Grey Mountain
At dusk, we shall hail; those last left to stand …before the light
Weaving magic as perceived
Harken to a time when mystery reigned and god's thundered above
Out of the fog of history, released from chains of fictitious secrecy…free
Pieced together from archaic inscriptions
Message conceived in cryptic armour
The priest always had a sense of drama
Remote pockets of novel culture, back to the black in haunted halls
Behind prediction wall
Living mythology, restless for night to begin and ignite the sky with stars
Living myths forever connected
We fortified this ideal, hallowed in the cosmos
Grey mountain collective
Contemplate the depth of aeons
Weaving together the strands of space and time
