First released in 2011, Ghost Drugs was the first time I shared my music with the world.

For a few years, I had been writing music to listen to while I studied. I'd put it on in the background and then let it loop for an hour while working on something else. One of my roommates at the time encouraged me to put together an album, so I started rounding them out into finished pieces of music. I didn't really know how to mix properly, nor did I really understand how to sequence an album, but it was exciting to be able to let the songs out into the wild.

Looking at Ghost Drugs now, 13 years later, I realize that it's all over the place, genre-wise; there's ambient, downtempo, solo piano, orchestral elements, and a really sad attempt at dubstep. It may be a little rough around the edges, but this album has some songs I'm still very proud of, and it really helped kickstart my career as a musician. Additionally, it's a good showcase of the music that influences me--you'll hear echoes of Ludovico Einaudi, Myst/Riven, Harold Budd, and more.

I've often debated over whether or not this album is "good enough" to leave online, as I've certainly come a long way as a musician and producer since Ghost Drugs. I have realized that while it doesn't always meet the standard for what I'd put out today, this album was (and is) an incredibly important part of my discography, since it marked the start of an incredible journey into making music; I wouldn't be where I am today if I hadn't taken the leap to put this album together.

I hope you enjoy it!
