June 29, 2026: A Way Into Dreams turns 5 this year. I’m pleased to share this music here at Ampwall. Thanks for your continued support as we continue making plans for special concert performances, new merch on the official Light Being website, and new music releases sooner than later.
The following is copy, with some slight edits, from the initial date and site of publication whose name we utter not, here at Ampwall!)
The 2016 [. . .] self titled full length re-recorded. All synths and loops that appeared before have been reimagined in the form of real recorded instrumental performances.
Tuned percussion instruments, and live performance MIDI controllers, and electric drum performances express with a greater sense of tonality and variance. An elk skin medicine drum taps a meditative journey at an almost sub-audible level, giving body to the already dynamic experience throughout the entirety of the album. String sections on D'wel and Petrous are performed by Kakophonix [that is, C.E. Brown, of Opus Et Sanare].
Guitars and bass are rerecorded since the original. Some of these parts are reimagined and played with greater expression and confidence, as I had years to pick up on rhythmic and melodic nuances that I felt important to highlight.
I've also included lyrics this time around, as it seems more important than ever to openly discuss the theme and inspiration of this album being my personal struggles with mental illness. Destigmatizing the subject in a way to allow for safe discussions in a spirit of acceptance seems the first step in any personal mental wellness journey. I hope to inspire healing with this album. The vocals before were merely a throat-grinding whisper with added distortion and reverb, but in the new style I am heard shouting as loud as possible, all up front and hiding nothing with mastering effects.
As far as I'm concerned, the 2016 version is fine [as] songwriting-phase pre-production, but A Way Into Dreams is the way the songs always sounded in my imagination all these years and I'm glad to share this as the final form with you. Thank you for believing in me since 2016 and even before.
