Hello, and welcome to the echoing cathedral halls of Mind Prisoner. If you’re new here, we are a post-black metal band based in Portland, Oregon and Walhalla, South Carolina. I just wanted to share a little about us and the album we have just finished.

I’m the newest member of the band, having only joined around a month ago. In that short time we have written and recorded the band’s second full-length album. I know Mind Prisoner because of my record label, Hauntology Records. Griffin reached out to Hauntology to release physical copies of the last album, The Color of Ruin, and we were happy to do so. A while ago we recorded an interview with Griffin and Thomas for the podcast we do for the label, which you can watch here. That’s what connected us on a more personal level, and what led to our collaboration, and ultimately, me joining the band.

The sound of Mind Prisoner is laced with elements of death metal, black metal, doom metal, noise, and now: considerable amounts of goth and post-punk influence. The new album is the best work I’ve ever helped to create. It’s made quite the impression on those with whom we’ve shared it with so far.

Fortunately, we have found a label willing to press vinyl for us. In addition, my label, Hauntology, will be doing cassettes. More on all of that in time. Thank you to the early followers on here! Be sure to follow us on Instagram, as well.

See you soon, and try to stay safe and sane in this oft-cruel world.
