"YUN" showcases a band transformed.
PYRES embrace a broad palette of influences that incorporates the furious energy of High on Fire, the melodic sludge metal of early era Baroness, and even delves into the realms of doom, grunge, and post-rock.
One of many dialectic translations of the Chinese word "Yun" is “to accumulate strength” or “to hold in emotions”. The album’s narrative is autobiographical in nature with lyrics depicting a mission of healing old wounds and purging the “accumulation” of grief and guilt.
