show me what distance is cast this body outward we hear skin blooming and see pollen in the air we looked on from strands, fragments, dust a vanishing lake a bird's neck the broom's resting place the knife's blind spot the plains go back to dreaming through a pinhole, there's so much rot anchors to be swept aside down a trap door, there's so much space to breathe I am through breathing beneath, behind inside each point a stain pressed into form collapsing toward us above for so long

Into Water
Receive
medicine into water cannot hold what it's given form dissolves into silence circling medicine into water buried in mid-air your smallest pleasures are the most that you can bear it's not for us to reach through memory decomposes carries backwards it knows an end horizon descends this breath is drawn for years you're left with sundials

Oh Dreamer You Will Have Lived Impatiently (Nocturne #1)

open a way to carry this through the sun stabs exhausted soil and wind flutters shadows a fairy call would flower here every peach, every apple a delicious carriage our mute web recedes but its ruins stand here insistently sundials left ticking on this despicable earth warm but for their untouchable core bitter summer whispers here lost on open dawns they must have used it too silent through some half sleep night will open a haunted gravity

Carried
Receive
knowing the lifespan of silence a light that breaks unevenly the present empties slow into dusk an hourglass turned aside each one describes the other in reverse to make room for smaller things glowing with insect phosphorescence this absence can find itself it will not hold the thing you call out for the future was always screaming with desire for polishing symmetry depending on mountains to hear a cloud pass and wanting each grain retold it will not hold the thing you call out for

The Future Was Always Screaming with Desire (Nocturne #2)

open, fade out I see us coming closer open the latch, take out what's left I see our eyes drawn by embers we will find only the flames of survival it is stone and air now our misfortunes were singing a slow and dull rewilding of the soul a single line, ever outward green has found us in this place it is stone and air now I can see, she said look up there, as she points and tightens her eyes it is a smile from the landscape we were soaked through with this place it won't last, it won't last, it won't last
Half Sun

I can see from a distance light without rays a dissolving of boundaries waiting for self caught in ascending silence it's simple to know I will toss it to the stream cut into you each point will agree to give way in silent unison the exhausted floorboards of winter will open to us a thousand suns haven't grown these leaves dissolving outward stillness gorges itself here becomes a threshold an oceanic concession dizzy with light under something inside us dissolving this dream each point will agree to give way in silent unison the exhausted floorboards of winter will open to us

Receive's (FKA Anura, Hey Exit) 'New Abrasions' is a project born from the early days of the 2020 quarantine, ripped up and started again twice before arriving in its final form. The result is a rich and expansive album of art rock and heavy music that draws from a whole slew of other subgenres, inspiration coming from everything from trip-hop to harsh noise. 'New Abrasions' is a dynamic album that never pulls the same punch twice, and warrants close and repeated listening.
