Spectrum

My daughter was diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder when she was two years old. As she learns to navigate through the world and interact with it, I also learn how she receives it differently. That process of growing into yourself isn't really any different from the journey another neurotypical person would make, but as someone who's not on the spectrum, I'm often in situations as a parent where I'm being taught rather than being the teacher.

Spectrum is me imagining that lens through which the world is received. To be clear: This is NOT a portrait of life on the spectrum. This is a portrait of a neurotypical person peering in, trying to understand it and learning its beauty.
