"This song continues the story first introduced in The Eclipse of Death. On the cover, Becky (left) is shattered by loss after her two best friends are killed by Hexicon. It becomes a classic “live long enough to see yourself become the villain” moment. Zacharias (right) tries desperately to keep Becky on the side of light, but her grief leaves her unwilling to go on.
Becky makes the choice to abandon her magic, passing it on to another, an act that, while final for her, dooms someone else to danger. Hexicon hunts magical beings to consume their power, so by stepping away, Becky not only gives up her fight but also paints a new target on another innocent life.
