This is the first chapter of the orchestral trilogy, “Crucible.” This was the most labor intensive of the three. I was very new to using the VSTs and really pushed myself as a composer (a lot of [awkward] modulations, time changes, etc.). It took several iterations over a couple of years to get the album where I’m really happy with it.
It’s similar to the second in that the movement structures are more progressive, avoiding much repetition. It’s also epic and has a narrative flow. The final movement holds a very special place for me.
