"Iron Lung for me is about beginnings. I always go into big projects like this with a goal, and for this my goal was to make a full album that I thought was good all the way through. Iron Lung is the first thing that feels professional in quality and not made in a bedroom by a teenager (even though it very much is at the end of the day). I worked with b0ttle (Faulty Radiator, Patchwork) to get it to that level of quality and I think it worked out really well. There will always be a layer of amateurish quality to a debut album, especially self-released and DIY, and I don't want to be ashamed of that. This album told me that what I needed to do is be honest, and to go with my heart. The record tells many stories, not just the ones in the songs, but the story of the process around them."
