Zeta Zapatistas
Type: Armor Unit
20.000 years into our future, humanity has scattered into the black of space One culture, secluded by stellar static, ushered in utopia: the Zeta Zapatistas Once governed, they overthrew They reckoned Observers gazing into the heavens detected an object foreign to their system Reconnaisance was quick to establish this object was capable of killing planets Dismantled and decrypted, its origins seemed eerily human Existence now once again threatened As a democracy, they exclaimed to retaliate A leftover wormhole, a tear through the veil lit the path into a darkness only two could face They reckoned They prayed to binary stars, that two would not fail

Cutlass & Needle
Type: Armor Unit
One would steer the vessel that would have brought an end A cloak to conceal them behind enemy lines Another would trail it, carrying certain doom In a desperate attempt to make a first, fatal move Quantum entangled communication Revealing a glimpse into this other civilisation A hypercapitalist empire reigned by death so far removed from us; can they still be considered human? A long voyage, and then they finally arrived Hibernation sickness slowly wearing off Initiate vitals check Scan for contact Engage weapons test Brace for impact Like a sword cutting through blades of grass It snuck past planetary defense for long enough, for a needle to slip through Battles commenced, an onslaught ensued One pilot ejected into the vacuum But the Needle had to keep puncturing through fields of debris, floating high up in orbit, over ash-filled skies Would she save her friend and risk untimely demise Quantum entagled communion She hoped this was not the last of her companion Now alone, there was no time for grieving “Phase I completed, end mission debriefing”

Planetfall
Type: Armor Unit
The grey thickens as I hurdle down upon cracquelure rocks in an arid wasteland For miles, no life For days, just night This war, this strife How I’ve come to miss the light Treading towards targets (Sound no alarm) Hiding from a thousand eyes (Sound no alarm) To inject the virus Decrepit concentric buildings Housing what appear to be faceless commuters Creatures, more prosthetic than flesh Sexless, floating in a mist of microplastics Feeding biomechanical tubes Leading to an upside-down pyramid suspended Above sprawling structures Suddenly, an electrical surge Captured This war, this strife How I’ve come to miss the light

Hyperthermal Laser
Type: Armor Unit
Waking up, eyes cauterized shut Naked, in excruciating pain A single voice echoes out Frequencies like nails to the brain It translates my cry for help It says it knows why I’m here I felt a drill spinning against my head Until all noise ended abruptly Shackles dropped to the ground Shivering, I touched in the dark A shape familiar to my gnosis Finger-pattern locked from usage It must’ve been a glitch These creatures stopped working My fingers pressed against the switch And cut up everything in proximity I could hear bodies split in two I think it pulled me through Afraid and defiled I had to plant the weapon A combat knife stuck to my belt The only way to see again I felt my pupil against the tip As I sliced open my eyelids

As Technocracies Sprawl and Crumble
Type: Armor Unit
Ripped out from its throat, a translation device Hacking into its mind, I saw fears untold A handful of technocrats subdue this population As the bottom, starving, consume without reason It cannibalized its own species It’s been eating itself for sustenance In search of new biomass to ingest But to what end? Power as a final state A thirst never quite quenched Perverted posthuman culture Pleasure as a cheap allure As technocracies develop and spreads outward Beauty develops quickly into horror Mass exploitation Under the guise of innovation Best this cancer be dealt with The virus bomb has been planted
1:24
Fluorescent Black
Type: Armor Unit
One swift solution Mutagenic weapon A mass genocide Justified The sound of metal bending Oily blood spills from orange wounds Frail bodies lie twitching While their coms turn mute Even quicker than this disease The word had spread that their suffering will finally be eased Either by death or by revolt Against the leaders of this world Major sacrifices made Or am I a terrorist in an interplanetary conflict? On the chute I climbed up To confront this Technarch Looking down All I saw was fluorescent black

Revolutions In Saecula
Type: Armor Unit
Through the barriers of manufactured consent They found whatever humanity had been left Rebellion followed, towers were toppled Billions rose up to what their hearts desired The execution of an emperor Was never foreseen in his hubris He fed off (arrogance), he bled off (arrogance) He fed off (arrogance), he bled off (arrogance) Another half, deceived by propaganda Willing to give their lives As it was, so will it be The kings will get the guillotine I stumbled upon a caustic corpse adorned with regalia And I burnt it just to hear it sputter With its blood, I drew the sign of the Sufiastra on the walls of its sacked castle
1:31
Portal
Type: Armor Unit
A year has passed on this cold, barren world The war resolved, or so I would assume A ripple sent by two pebbles cast, has become a spacetime ocean The way home is long Everyone I loved will be gone Time will have taken them all Will I be remembered when I return? I bid farewell, knowing well a near-derelict vessel might not get me there The wormhole starts to collapse as I enter through this strange looking glass Outside cryogenic sleep, waiting out my days Contemplating all the mistakes we have made
2:15
Deepsuit
Type: Armor Unit
As I exit, after approximately three years I see but a pale green dot flickering irregularly Something shakes up the ship Sustaining critical damage I evacuate in something that can withstand the pressure Floating home in a deepsuit Something must have followed me What kind of threat could this be? My ship lingers, totaled and torn This is a raw ordeal With 500 million miles to go Is this the end? I close my eyes and feel numb
0:44
The Dark Forest
Type: Armor Unit
We always feared this expanse would only consist of humans preying on other cultures No non-human life, no ghosts and ghouls alike Aside from the monsters we have let ourselves become Lurking around every corner in this dark forest, are our cousins Do not let yourself be known across galaxies, or seal your fate The hunter can be hunted It’s kill or be eaten Resources all depleted Thieved, swallowed or annihilated
1:17
Artificially Evolved Docile Animal
Type: Armor Unit
As if out of a strange dream I heard my language, for the first time In what seemed forever Descendents of my friends Monitoring the Caesa belt tracted me into their ship and briefed the war had not ended A fleet of theirs came and conquered And occupied the habitable zone of our tidally locked planet The rest of us, displaced or colonized 50 years of living beneath methane mires Exhausted from guerrilla warfare We are docile animals Like a phylobite or a manatruse Slowly metamorphizing into something crude Living out our days as if there’s no alternative Sent off like lambs to the slaughter A bloated technarch became their god Well-fed, well-raised Obedient and depraved
1:19
Threedimensional Shadow
Type: Armor Unit
Plunged into darkness, our home completely ravaged In these living quarters, a shadow appeared before me “Do you remember me? You do not know you are the key” Was it really him, the one I had left? Or is this another daydream? “They want to destroy you, because you believe” That humanity can do better? At this point, I’m not so certain He touched my face And I felt cold to my brains “Either you join us, or receive a tesseract mine”
1:11
Warp Engine Acid
Type: Armor Unit
The Ys had caught the eye of another civilisation on the prowl by meddling with higher dimensions Only one fleet escaped the carnage They had completely erased the culture that you saved And then followed the trace of warp engine acid They picked me up and fused me with the ship Curious for data encrypted into our genes To make a museum, to keep their masters pleased In the fourth dimension, sights are beyond what’s conceived How will you retaliate Knowing you’re to be decimated?
1:10
Spooky Action At A Distance
Type: Armor Unit
It seems we too were just quantum entangled You would betray all you’ve lost while we crept through trauma I just don’t care enough, this universe can fall apart If we can’t live in peace, then let us die and celebrate All this spooky action at a distance doesn’t excite me at all No emotional bond You can take ‘em, take them, take them All the gifts you could offer I will save what I can You can take all you want Reverse engineer warp drive technology Kill these fascists, and then leave this place All this spooky action at a distance doesn’t excite me at all Show your true form, you can take it, take it, take it and leave me alone
1:35
Orbital Vision Quest
Type: Armor Unit
Rebel headquarters alerted of an imminent attack We barely know our enemy; one of us has joined their ranks Can we take refuge elsewhere? Warp drives would lead them there All paths end in disaster Is this version of heaven we’ve held onto a promise or a cage? It kept me undaunted, yet I fail to feel alive This god I thought was everywhere, resembles a nightmare The human condition is to subdue On an orbital vision quest I saw terrors from the past And what had to be done to survive The horror to come Free ourselves From subjugation I would again infiltrate Find weaponry to appropriate Go into the 4D And crunch it into three
1:24
Plasmaguns
Type: Armor Unit
Prepared for covert war against technofascists, and their successors In deepsuits, we ventured in their compounds, and gunned down all of them Explosions of blood, halls painted red Flashing with blue light from plasma shells One of us entangled in nanowire nets Sliced into a thousand pieces of scrap Reinforcements soon came rushing in A high-frequency blade sliced their numbers thin Venomous toxins exhaled through the vents But we acquired a dimensional clicker nonetheless To make our way out, and find a way to survive Silence out all future noise, and hide from all life Before we move: destroy the enemy The barrel glows from the heat Plasmaguns firing on repeat Smoldering corpses mark the trail As we make for our escape
1:44
Astrosociology
Type: Armor Unit
The worst of mankind will continue to push until Societies break, histories be unmade Entire peoples enthralled as slaves Each civilisation is faced with overcoming this phase Of singular hierarchy And with it, endless misery Once inside, beyond the boundaries of threedimensional space, there was calligraphy And Jaali screens, that gave way to a glimpse where my arm went through, And they closed to cut him in two Past their security networks, inside their domes of steel But by the snap of a finger, we made it all collapse They want no diversity, no humanity as we are We cannot be tolerant for those who end democracy Cleaning up the rubble We braced for the next calamity And to meet there once again
1:26
Kaleidoscopic Oceans
Type: Armor Unit
Perception splitting into a tapestry Of shapes and colors we were not meant to see Disorientated, no way to navigate this coiling palace where my brother awaits Finally I gazed upon his new form A shape nearly undiscernable Have you come to join our side? And present your people as prize? Abandoning me should’ve cost you your life Swimming through this impossible sea of space I felt my body unfolding outward as I faced My old ally, now a threat to existence As two we started, and as two we will finish I held the sword in one hand And shielded myself from the blast One instant flash, and the entire plain crashed It folded into itself, and mangled all within it
1:39
Data Junkies
Type: Armor Unit
Finally here again, scarred from mayhem Against all odds, hanging onto life Only to find myself in this new age where data junkies have become the new slaves Occupation and innovation left its remnants New ways for hierarchies to take over Thirsty for stimuli, hungry for dissemination And knowledge to fill theleft within Plug the chord into your occipital lobe Getting high on data traffic
0:42
Binary Sunbather
Type: Armor Unit
When all has come to pass, I can’t help to note that It’s not in spite, the death and destruction we beget Life is there to be enjoyed for all But alone is where I’m most comfortable So I moved far away, into a pocket dimension It’s there I’ll stay, though I might visit on occasion Basking in the rays of the binary sunset on the waves Of gravity, reminiscing of How two would not fail to bring peace home Now I’m left alone, with nothing to show These grand achievements growing cold In the collective dementia of the uncaring void

Revolutions In Saecula tells the story of two freedom fighters, 20.000 years into the future, whose society and star system is threatened by another civilization. In a desperate attempt to dismantle their imminent subjugation, one of the two, Kasa, eventually becomes stranded alone behind enemy lines. Trapped in a world of technofascists who are human in their DNA but act nothing like modern definitions of such, Kasa discovers this is but the first of frightening truths to be revealed about our universe…

This story is told in about 30 minutes through twenty songs, each representing a chapter; the upcoming physical release will have more visual cues to aid in this sonic/nerdy journey through space.

Type: Armor Unit is a new solo offering by Owen Swerts (Days Of Desolation, Dahmer Duck, etc.), aiming to become an audiographic universe with complex world-building and expression through media beyond purely musical ones.
