My second CD I have released. This time with a general theme of spirituality and faith. This album contains a mix of traditional spiritual songs like Balm In Gilead, Wayfaring Stranger 2 different ways. The other is a mix of original instrumental works and newly created vocal songs.
The first song, Journey Of My Soul matching the title of the album is a long recounting of story and experience of Angels and how that journey went.
Aside from Balm In Gilead and Wayfarer all were created as original songs when thinking of the story I wanted to tell about the journey. So, here is a quick overview
Journey of My Soul - A deeply spiritual journey through space and time and the experience story.
Walkers and Talkers - Instrumental Gospel style trumpet swing. When I was composing; it sounded to me like 2 people on a stroll having a loving, or blunt exchange depending on what your ears perceive, I guess.
Country Quick Step Dance - Instrumental A happy reminder of those Do-sa-Dossss they used to make us do in a gymnasium. Yea, this track really dates me but soul is found in dance and good memories.
Journey of My Soul Short Inst - For those of you that liked track one but want to sing your own lyrics in a shorter time span. Time gets shorter every day, so this can come in handy.
Warrior’s last battle. Yes, that is one warrior and a story unfolding from the first-person perspective of being there at the end of it all. Turn on your subwoofer for this one you won’t be disappointed.
Wayfarer Blue grass Jam - I love this song, so I did it up bluegrass style. I love bluegrass to so, why not it was fun and moves my soul.
Balm In Gilead - A very old spiritual song performed with piano and vocal the old way. This so far was one of my favorite songs to learn to sing.
Wayfarer Saw Bass Jam - I wanted to do it super traditional, but it seemed boring compared to the bluegrass version, so I sawed it up and mixed it together with slow bass saw waves flowing back and forth to match the journey sings about. Waves at sea, or perhaps wavy fields. Yep, get that subwoofer out.
Spider Lady - A family tribute to a wonderful family member who happens to love tarantulas. No journey is ever complete until new people arrive and love you.
Ah Oum Meditation - Yes, I did not spell it Ohm since I didn’t sing it that way. Why? Just wanted to be different and I wanted something to meditate to for 15 minutes that was a good fit for me. (-: There are no instruments in this meditation all sounds are made with my voice. You may notice a ringing like a bell between phrases but that is what I really love about music Harmonics baby… Yeah, it was surprising to me the first time I got annoyed an instrument voice snook in some how, but … nope just harmonics. What do you know I learned something new.
