Call To Silence is a study on the nature of solitude and what it means to be alone. Several things inspired this train of thought: the events in the early years of this decade which denied many the opportunity of company, and a situation in my personal life which caused me to reflect on this notion. It was whilst examining this that the music began to take shape - appropriately some of the pieces were free form, some far more structured which I think fits the concept nicely.
Finally, I drew upon my experiences of living in some of the busiest areas of the UK to where I am now, which is far less populated. Are we really meant to live in such close confinement, and is this sustainable as the population grows? Time will tell.
