Black Glass Records was founded by Afturmath in 2018 with a simple mission: Provide a platform and community for synthesizer musicians to share experimental electronic music. Our primary focus will always be sonic originality.

While we cater mostly towards flavors of ambient, techno, house, trance, electro, dub- and -wave music, we try not to let genre define how we curate our collection.

Created in Virginia Beach, since 2019, BGR operated primarily out of Jersey City in the NYC area. In 2023, the business and main studio moved to Amsterdam where we currently operate today.
