On their 2021 debut album In Relation To, Big Space takes a jazz approach to nine original compositions ranging from contemporary jazz fusion to instrumental post-rock and atmospheric soundscapes, with plenty of improvisation.
In Relation To was recorded live in the studio with no overdubs, capturing a high level of interplay between the three musicians and combining the dynamic feel of a live show with studio-quality sound. The album won ECMA Jazz Recording of the Year, recognizing the best jazz album in Atlantic Canada.
