The Mobster Wife’s Funeral Slowly they walk, casket in hand down the graveyard path the husband is silent and deeply grey a mountain of anger and wrath the women are crying there’s been too much dying the children are pale and still It happened so quick it happened to soon Isabella has been killed oooh what pain lies ahead oooh the Irish will wish they were dead there is no relief, just pain and no gain at the mobster wifes funeral Among them there’s talk, not now when they stand in silent salute to this dame that she came a across a new lover man a way out out of these ways I stand aside the blackclad group the rain pouring down my cheeks It happened so quick it happened to soon I’m dead once my identity leaks oooh what pain lies ahead oooh I will wish I was dead there is no relief just pain and no gain at the mobster wife’s funeral

——
- The Story behind the "Detective Stories" Album-

When I was a teenager I fled into the world of books and fantasy role-playing games as well as music.

Something was impressive about those knights in shining armor with their heroic deeds and I read the Lord of the Rings 13 times, long before it was rediscovered, which let me imagine it in my own way.

Later on, I discovered jazz and jazz musicians and once I had read Beneath the Underdog by Charles Mingus, my love for the failed hero began.

Somehow over the years the coolness of men in suits with a checkered past got combined with a new love, the love for all things crime.

David Fincher and True Detective revolutionized it all for me, again.

I was smitten and since then my heart nearly skips a beat when I see a quality dark crime show or film pop up somewhere, just to suck me in.

I have seen a lot over the years, but not the noir movies.

My best friend, Jens Küstner has seen a lot of them and we have shared our love of a great detective story many times and during many movie nights.

We never miss out on a chance to use police chatter talk (10-4) or call each other partner or detective.

From this backstory the plan for"Detective Stories & Morning Glories" (working title) was born, which later became "Detective Stories: Memories Of Love And Crime And Death".

From December 24 till February 2025 I spent many a night shift learning the audio program Reaper through YouTube tutorials and the help of my good friend Johann and then it was finished and I have been treasuring it ever since.

Every song is different and unique, I sing, play the basses and work with samples, as usual but this time they all have a common concept, a theme.

Broken heroes, cities that reek of desperation, sad and beautiful dames, police ghosts and even a mobster funeral.

They and more all make up that world to me and let me escape into a dimension of romance and suspense.

If you have ever failed as a hero in your life or just like stories about those kind of men and women -

Kick back and have a listen, preferably over your headphones - and enjoy

The Detective Stories.
