Me & My 100$ Bass (Are Fallin' In Love)

Before, I wanted to record an album with only my double bass.
Well, I tried. The electric bass and my vocals were involved.
It became “Wood, Wire & Shadows”.
Now I wanted to record an album with only my electric bass.
Well, I tried. Samples, double bass, and my vocals are involved.
It became “The Electric Bass Sessions - Vol. 1”

I guess it’s about having a Zen goal and, along the way, new things happen.
New BMK songs.

1) “Me And My 100$ Bass Are Falling In Love”
This one really just happened, and I still can’t figure out how. It’s quite danceable in comparison with my usual songs and pieces. At some point, I realized that I needed a crowd in the background. I remembered the energy in the room at last Saturday’s gig and wanted to capture that.
My electric bass really was 100 $ (100 Euros but that doesn’t sound as good) and I have been playing it for a long time. My double bass’s name is Emma. Still have to find a name for this here Jack and Danny Silver Sparkle Music Man imitation….

2) “Oblivion”
In depressive times, I often feel the need to escape my many thoughts and emotions. I actively seek oblivion through unhealthy things. That’s something I unfortunately learned when I was young. I know for sure, even if I would do everything healthy and right - good clean living - sweet oblivion can be a blessing. The only problem is - it eventually ends. Until the day, the day we all have to face.
And I wonder if being in that final oblivion will make me happy and at peace.

3) “The Devil & The Deep Blue Me”
The third song on this EP was actually the title track of a separate solo project, which I will probably end. But I wanted this song to get really good - and as with all the songs, I really worked hard with editing and mixing to make it satisfying. It reminds me of the alternative rock days when I was 17 and in a band called Soda Jerk. That was the beginning.
This song guest stars “Emma”, by 160 year old bohemian double bass, pizzicato and arco.
