Breathe in breathe out your contradictions Breathe in breathe out your words of fiction "Breathe in breathe out," you say, "but not on my time." Says I, "Good bye to Grace." Breathe in breathe out your pale addiction Breathe in breathe out without conviction "Breathe in breathe out," you say, "but not on my time." Says I, "Goodbye to Grace." Says the look on my face Says I, "Goodbye to Grace, but not on my time." Says I, "Goodbye to Grace." We may never be something better We may be down but we're not afraid We may never be something better We may be down but we're not afraid Breathe in breathe out without permission Breathe in breathe out your final mission "Breathe in breathe out," you say, "but not on my time." Says I, "Goodbye to Grace." Says I, "Goodbye to Grace." Says I, "Goodbye to Grace." Says I, "Goodbye to Grace." Say goodbye to Grace. Say goodbye to Grace. Say goodbye to Grace. Say goodbye to Grace. Your breath is clouding the window. Say goodbye to Grace. Say goodbye to Grace. Say goodbye to Grace. Say goodbye to Grace.

Formed in 2000 in Muncie, Indiana, Brazil fused post-hardcore energy with high-concept lyricism and cinematic scope. The band quickly made a name for themselves through intense, self-booked tours and early releases on Fearless Records, including the Dasein EP (2002) and full-length A Hostage and the Meaning of Life (2004).

In 2006, Brazil signed to Immortal Records and released The Philosophy of Velocity, a maximalist, dystopian rock opera co-produced with Dave Fridmann. The sophomore full-length album explored themes of identity, metaphysics, and decay, set against walls of sound and a collection of surreal short stories. Hailed by critics and supported by national tours with Sparta, Minus the Bear, Coheed and Cambria, and mewithoutYou, the album vanished after Immortal's collapse in 2007—its master tapes lost in industry limbo.

Now, 18 years later, Brazil has recovered the original masters and will reissue The Philosophy of Velocity on vinyl in late 2025. Long considered a cult classic, the album's return marks the revival of one of the Midwest's most visionary underground bands.
