Post-Truth Empire

Fact and fiction merge together In their new form they can't be severed Sound-bites ring louder than the truth Drowning out the honest proof Accusations will abound My revelations will astound Watch my doctors spin around Although my claims are unfounded I'll raise my voice and shout you down Preaching loudly to the choir Charismatic and inspired I stand alone: an honest liar Building my post-truth empire Automatic contradiction Hallmark of the politician You say black and I'll say white It doesn't matter who is right Every question is deflected Every motive uninspected Every error uncorrected Every debate is infected Every liar gets elected Preaching loudly to the choir Charismatic and inspired I stand alone: an honest liar Building my post-truth empire After the truth it's down to the shouting After the fight who'll be left standing? It's all reduced to the lies and the slander Mindless outrage in an echo-chamber Preaching loudly to the choir Charismatic and inspired I stand alone: an honest liar Building my post-truth empire Preaching loudly to the choir Charismatic and inspired I stand alone: an honest liar Building my post-truth empire
