Maps Are Not Territories

MAPS ARE NOT TERRITORIES Sometimes I dream of a world Where finding the answer to something has some friction Instant knowledge comes at a loss Most of it is meaningless The only thing really learned is how to type into a box Or speak into a device You don't learn the larger life lesson of the struggle, the embodiment A deeper type of knowing The maps are not the territories You can look at depictions of a mountain It will never be the same as climbing the real mountain The embodied knowledge is less and less while the information is more and more We don't even know what we know Everything is forgotten instantly we're never certain Always full of doubt We look it up, again, and again Slowly drifting into amnesia The maps are not the territories You can look at depictions of a mountain It will never be the same as climbing the real mountain Embrace the analogue Start living with the senses Love actively the part of The world that you can touch
