Sometimes people make promises That they don’t intend to keep They build up your hopes only to crash them down And leave you alone to weep Amanda, I’m one of those people And I’m being so sincere You’ve asked for a song more than 90 times But I won’t write you a song this year I’d like to say that I’m sorry But truth be told I’m not I haven’t had time or good ideas And this is all that I’ve got Life is full of disappointment Some drown their sorrows in beer Cope with this news however you like But I won’t write you a song this year Now this song is ending And I need to make one thing clear I didn’t write this song for you And I won’t write you a song this year No I won’t write you a song this year

This album is a collection of songs written over the course of ten years, taking the listener (that's YOU!) on a meandering musical adventure through space and time.

2025 addendum: When I first started making music, I wanted to be like They Might Be Giants or Jonathan Coulton, writing songs that toed a line between silly and serious. I started playing accordion when I was 16 years old, which fit perfectly into this trajectory. Between 2007 and 2013, I wrote and recorded quite a few songs with lyrics. Many of these were shared with friends (and a few were even performed live on stage), but I found that I was more interested in focusing on instrumental and ambient music as my primary output, so the songs that ultimately became “The Edventure” mostly sat untouched in various folders for years.

In 2018, I decided to compile and release the best of these recordings as an album on Bandcamp. When I started putting my music on Ampwall, I initially chose not to include this album, since it’s not quite representative of the kind of music you’ll find in the rest of my discography. However, after talking with members of the Ampwall community, I changed my mind, since they’re still an important part of my journey as an artist. So here you go, Ampwall—The Edventure! I’m not a great singer, and these were recorded when I lacked proper equipment and mixing/mastering tools, but the songs have a certain charm and lighthearted attitude that will (hopefully) bring a smile to your face.
