Party Bus
Ed Herbers
It’s Friday night and you’re with your friends And you’ve had too much Bacardi But that’s alright, cause there’s a number to call If you want to have a mobile party It pulls up at your house at a quarter to nine So you grab your drinks and you’re feeling fine It opens the doors and you jump on in Get onto the bus and let the party begin! Party Bus! You’re out on the road and you’re having a blast Dancing and drinking and moving real fast Out of the blue here comes a cop His lights are flashing and he hollers “STOP!” Party bust! The bus pulls over and the cop gets on He looks at the driver and he says “Hey son, Where are you going? Can I tag along?” Grabs himself a drink and the party rolls on. Party cop! You party on the bus til the break of dawn And you gotta admit: the party was fun You get off the bus and say bye to your friends You tell the bus driver “See you next weekend!” Party bus Oh yeah! Ride that party bus all night! Ride it downtown to the bar! Party bus

This album is a collection of songs written over the course of ten years, taking the listener (that's YOU!) on a meandering musical adventure through space and time.

2025 addendum: When I first started making music, I wanted to be like They Might Be Giants or Jonathan Coulton, writing songs that toed a line between silly and serious. I started playing accordion when I was 16 years old, which fit perfectly into this trajectory. Between 2007 and 2013, I wrote and recorded quite a few songs with lyrics. Many of these were shared with friends (and a few were even performed live on stage), but I found that I was more interested in focusing on instrumental and ambient music as my primary output, so the songs that ultimately became “The Edventure” mostly sat untouched in various folders for years.

In 2018, I decided to compile and release the best of these recordings as an album on Bandcamp. When I started putting my music on Ampwall, I initially chose not to include this album, since it’s not quite representative of the kind of music you’ll find in the rest of my discography. However, after talking with members of the Ampwall community, I changed my mind, since they’re still an important part of my journey as an artist. So here you go, Ampwall—The Edventure! I’m not a great singer, and these were recorded when I lacked proper equipment and mixing/mastering tools, but the songs have a certain charm and lighthearted attitude that will (hopefully) bring a smile to your face.
