Diving into Imrryr's discography is like stepping through a portal to another planet. An inconceivably expansive and prolific history of releases, that are somehow all substantiated by engaging and quality compositions, and interesting back-stories. The Black Axe is a beautiful album, that would feel extremely at home as the soundtrack to a late-90s JRPG (an area of music that is very close to my heart.) a strong entry point into a bafflingly tremendous, sometimes intimidating, catalogue of music.
