Jay Turner has hit another home run with his upcoming release “A Part of the Machine”. A self-financed and produced release. You would never assume this was not a record with a major label budget. Turner, as always blends his multiple bass parts and lines seamlessly with a legendary cast of Baltimore area musicians, ranging from Michael Sauri on Guitar, JP Gaster on Drums and Vibes, and vocalist extraordinaire, Melissa Wimbish. He also brings in a little outside help with Kristin weber on violin, from Nashville.
The arrangements are smooth, sometime jarring, and all extremely well recorded, produced, and mixed. This record is a testament to what you can accomplish with the right players and the right amount of work and communication. The lush layering of Ms. Wimbish vocals just adds to the intricacy of communication that is needed by all parts to make this into a seamless and lush production.
More than well worth the listen. Please support your local artists by purchasing directly from them, or these kinds of releases may not be available in the future.
