Jay Turner’s “Art Music for Bass” is a multi-dimensional, educational feast of musical goodness. Jay has been involved with so many collectives, it’s great to see him step-up and take center stage, low end proudly, on display throughout in his own unique avant-garde, stylistic way. Not only are the instrumental compositions well crafted and thought provoking within the musical texture, it even makes you take a step outside of the notes to ponder other musical forms: mostly, jazz, sweet beautiful jazz music. -
Art Music for Bass (2018)
"...Art Music for Bass is the best I've heard from you to date. It's a mature, diverse, sonically fascinating disc. Winters Field reminded me of some Miles Davis / Weather Report ish thang... whole disc is grown folk music. You should really be quite pleased with yourself hombre... Fuck you for being that good." - Gary Brown, Guitarist
