Heat Lightning

Like a flash from out the dark Lonely stretch of lightning from the heat Right before I fall asleep Something shakes me wide awake And takes a hold of me The sound of a beating heart Hues of glowing gold against the green I am caught somewhere between A state of static permanence And burning energy How can I find the words to say what I mean? Before the feeling goes away How can I convey?
