Flowers Spuming Steadily Against The Shores Of Time (A Dream) [Live From The FIELDS Tour - October 29th, 2023]

Throughout 2022 I experienced major depressions and sleeping disorders. The first week of FIELDS tour I barely slept at all. Revisiting the pieces that I played with the Inflatable Knee that night at Noch Besser Leben, Leipzig, I realize how much they felt like my complicated relationship to sleep during that period of time. FLOWERS SPUMING STEADILY AGAINST THE SHORES OF TIME (A DREAM) resembles my relationships with dreams during those months. I would wake up multiple times each night, stepping in and out of the same dreams over and over again, then finally getting some actual rest in the last hours of the early morning.

HOUSMAN HAD A SLEEPING DISORDER TOO (SLEEP) resembles my inner struggle between relaxation and stress; numbness and inspiration being sleep deprived - a stop and go of feelings and expression.

The first time I ever heard Lou Ree'd VANISHING ACT was in my car driving. I had to pull over as I started crying listening to that song. In 2022 I made it a loved habit to close every set with that song reminiscing Lou Reed's 80th birthday that year. During the FIELDS tour we played very slow versions of the song compared to how I started performing the song in the beginning of the year and as a single. It's a magnificent experience witnessing a song evolve over time. This is a magnificently slow take on one of the best songs ever written.

FIELDS are the energetic entities that permeate everything in the universe at the quantum level. They are everywhere, yet invisible. Music is also everywhere, inside us, around us, even if we don't hear it. To this fascination, to the essential importance of the invisible for human existence!
