Created for the r/DungeonSynth May 2026 Dungeon Shamble.
With this shamble only directing us to make battle music, I picked up the theme from last May’s shamble and continued the story of Ftumch. Here, we find him in a fateful position, and one – as usual – not of his own making. He stands with his kin to defend his home, the subterranean hamlet known as ‘The Hollow’ from forces loyal to the Black Chapel.
They march on The Hollow and the surrounding crypts with an eye to controlling the mines – rich in metals and the myriad soft stones that the Chapel’s apothecaries use to create healing balms and tinctures of spirit. They also seek to control the local population to serve as slave labour.
Ftumch and his cohort are not about to spend the rest of their lives chained to a pickaxe in servitude to the Black Chapel, and no matter how many of their monsters they have brought against them they will fight and be free.
