I am not a stranger you are just under a spell Some dark alchemy that erased me from your past While you remain burned into mine Either that or I just didn't matter much Oh curse these memories That no one else kept but me I wish they would just fade away Yet they stay We rode stolen bikes down unlit streets Slept on floors Gave into rage and lust Argued selfish philosophy We are constructed from stain glass recollections Beautiful and easy to break Oh curse these memories That no one else kept but me I wish they would just fade away Yet they stay Do you remember? (no we don't) Do you want to? (no we don't) Do you think about me now and then? (no we don't) There's nothing left to say And yet I keep talking Sure, it's been over a decade and I never called But I'm feeling old and detached and obsessed with the past Can you confirm my existence please? I know the lines been dead and I am talking to myself I shouldn't blame you But here I am doing exactly that Because you dared to live your life without me Why do I keep these keys? When the doors no longer exist Why don't I throw them out? Would I miss their weight too much? I don't know what to do With all these pieces That connect to nothing at all A dead end puzzle That I can never ever put away
