As the desert spreads As the grid falls apart The towers grow brighter by the day She sits up there A god in an unlocked cage From her hands the waters flow When they found her their parched throats Shouted with joy Now they rattle half-full cups impatiently While she serves her role She stares out the window Watches the nothingness expand And wonders What if I never stopped pouring? What if their cups overflowed? In her dreams there's a river that carries them all to an endless sea Watch the walls rise all around There is no escape And from her hands the waters flow More than any cup could hold It pours endlessly, endlessly Before her dream rose over their heads They caught a glimpse of that sea And thought to themselves I'll never be thirsty again
