With the drive to create something ugly, uncomfortable, and uncompromising in its pursuit of aural devastation burning since at least the early 2000s, Mouth Toilet gestated in various forms for nearly twenty years before finally taking shape in early 2022.

MT001 - A Devastating Collection of Incidents collects the first five tracks recorded for this project—true to its original vision, yet still a long way from where they would ultimately end up sonically. Blending black metal, grindcore, sludge, and crust punk with a churning undercurrent of harsh, power electronics-inspired noise, this early version of Mouth Toilet is not far removed from the sound of early Anaal Nathrakh, with whom Wilkins acted as live bassist for ten years.

The project would swiftly develop beyond its somewhat naive beginnings, with guitars and traditional instrumentation making way for a foundation built from electronics. However, the harshness, abrasiveness, and desire to create something uncomfortable were evident from the very beginning.
