Bound to this plane of existence We are vessel For the shaping Caught in the tangle of living Empty drifting No escaping Purpose we're told is the answer Fill the vessel With life's meaning Such an ambition must falter With life's pressures Intervening Let go the burdens of time and place Find true form In the void What is the vision seen of yourself? Pieces whole? Or destroyed? Shape a new self in that knowledge Fuse the outward And within Conjure the spirit, coalesce Let your rebirth Now begin! Tether soul to Earth, Mother to us all Send your roots out deep, feel the pull, the call Let your heart burn free, shed the rot and blight Give to her your pain and fill yourself with light Give up your grief to recycle Let it be pulled under waves! The stone that hindered your progress Shall crumble to sand, a grave For those who dare deride Our Earth Mother's child, her pride! As moss devours the dead As the vine engulfs the dwelling Karma binds hate with Her thread We are magik, cosmic, rebelling Justice bends to those who have grown The earth reclaims the stone

Ecstasy/Agony is the next evolution of Peder Simon's once-solo Nirensimt sound that has been blackening with every release, adding vocals for the first time and employing the talents of former collaborator Eric Perkins on bass to bring Nirensimt's best, most beautiful, and most brutal album to date. With 7 tracks clocking in at an epic 52 minutes, this release traverses the spectrum from slow and majestic to blistering and haunting without feeling overly long and bloated. Lyrics screamed and sung by Peder weave mystical allegories for facing trauma with imagery of a universe that is every bit as beautiful as we make it. A powerful journey from start to finish, Nirensimt's 3rd album Ecstasy/Agony is sure to entice listeners back for many return trips.
