Noltem
Illuminating the waves, like illusions in the wake...
About Noltem
Noltem was created sometime in 2004 by Max Johnson. After releasing the demo tape "Hymn of the Wood", Noltem more or less faded into obscurity. In 2014, Max was contacted by Bob Davis (owner of Atlanta, GA tape label Ritual Ugliness Productions). Their idea to reissue the demo tape resulted in the completion of three new songs with drummer and vocalist John Kerr (Majesties, Pyrithe, etc). These tracks became the "Mannaz" EP, which was released by Northern Silence Productions in 2015.
Riding high on the positive reception of "Mannaz", Noltem recruited Shalin Shah (Protolith, ex-In Human Form) on bass guitar. The trio went on to record their debut album "Illusions in the Wake". Released in 2021 to widespread acclaim, the album features guest performances by Aaron Carey (Nechochwen), Jordan Guerette (Falls of Rauros, Forêt Endormie), and Zach Miller (Pyrithe). It was mixed and mastered by Spenser Morris (Saor, Panopticon, Vukari, etc...).
Noltem is now a free agent, and recording sessions for the next album have already begun.
