Born of a love of Cusco, Vangelis, and Mike Oldfield, dried over the fires of a deliberate tonal palate, and smoked through the pipe of my own experience roleplaying in the city of Barnacle, Quarrioc's second offering is sea synth Mirrormourn style.

The mighty city of Barnacle is home to many stately steam dens, opulent smoking lounges, and dingy fume hovels. Each day from the haze of pre-dawn to the seaside sunset, these establishments keep guests well anaesthetized to the rigors of modern life. Whether you're after a bit of cloud to take the edge off, a puff of morning Zagape to lift the fog, or some heavier vapors, the Fume Hovels are no doubt your destination.

Mirrormourn is a "mirrored" fantasy world by Esper the Bard, featuring clever inversions of common fantasy tropes amid countless vistas of tantalizing weirdness, one detail is that the peoples of Havenisle are known to smoke different plant and mineral preparations instead of the usual beverage-based tavern fare. This album is dedicated to those places of respite, hotbeds of dissension, and community hubs that are the fume hovels of the city of Barnacle.
