… Drone in its purest expression, it's difficult to give much insight into the music itself. Deeply layered nondescript noise, harmonies that barely stand out from a tangled knot of resonances, Thirteen Years is not the sum of its parts, but a blanket of static assembled therewith. In attempting to make sense out of its transmission, there are many possible mental images. A frozen wasteland of dry and frigid winds, long destitute of life. The restless waves of a dark shoreline, and the rancid aftertaste of brine. A void that resents its own existence. The tragic allure of a heaven not meant for you. A pervasive emptiness, coldness, grief, pain. No words are spoken, and yet the message could not be clearer…
