Wolven Daughter's spectacular knack for writing infectious, catchy, hook-laden songs feels almost like an affront to their production style. Proof that songwriting is such a fundamental core part of making music, and that a strong song lives and breaths regardless of the production employed. However, with Wolven Daugher the exceedingly raw production feels appropriate and enhancing.
Order of the Wolf is a delightful contrast, with a much more polished production sheen, but equally engaging hooks and performances. Fantastic lead guitars and grooves.
This EP is an inspired pairing, showing how diverse black metal continues to be as a genre.
