The Ritual of Bone and Blade

Born in 2022, NYC/Philly/PNW black metal outfit SEV LEZU delivers sonic malignancy rooted in the sounds of old, with musicality drawing from the frigid majesty of the Swedish tradition (à la Dissection and Bathory) and Finnish institutions Sargeist, Horna, and Satanic Warmaster, all channeled through the grinding rhythmic violence of Terrorizer and Nasum, warhorse charge of Iron Maiden, and percussive dynamism of Death. 

SEV LEZU’s seven-track debut record, BLOOD CONSCRIPT, recorded at Artifact Audio by drummer, vocalist, lyricist, and producer Sasha Stroud (Belexum, Onw), spins a cursed and bloody tale of dark, polytheistic mythology, a hateful pantheon, and ensanguined revenge. Guitarist Melissa Moore (Crossspitter, Sonja) and bassist FW (Manat)--along with guest guitarist/songwriter Mia Priest (ex-Impiety) on the track “Corpse Step”--join Stroud to realize SEV LEZU’s strict creative vision of GRINDING, MELODIC BLACK DEATH.
